Cucina Sabrina

Nickname: Bri

Zodiac: Saggitarius

If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, it would be: Eggplant parmigiana

My go-to kitchen tool: The cucchiarella… AKA the wooden spoon

On my day off: I cook something!

Your biggest inspiration comes from: My mother and grandmother

You’ll find me cooking in: Something super comfy, like PJ’s, a robe or anything Lululemon

Most memorable meal: My favourite meal ever was at an Agriturismo in my hometown near Naples in the countryside, called Le Due Sorelle. These two sisters are such fabulous cooks! They grow all their own produce and raise their own meats. The meal never ended that day. We ate outside overlooking the gorgeous landscape of the region of Campania. Each dish was better than the next. Nothing fancy, but incredible!

Fun Fact: I went to acting school, appeared as an extra in a few films and later, got called to audition for a leading role, which I turned down because I was too scared to go to the audition alone!

About the Blogger

Ciao, I’m Sabrina Montemarano, a self-taught home cook, food blogger and pasta enthusiast and I love to inspire people to get into the kitchen and cook. Growing up in an Italian household, we feasted on mostly traditional Italian dishes from the region of Campania. My passion for cooking started at a young age because I watched my mother and grandmother in the kitchen. As I got older, my frequent travel to Italy and Europe continued to inspire my craft. Food is such a powerful thing and I knew I needed to share my enthusiasm with the world. I started this blog to share special recipes that I know you’ll love, so grab a seat at my table and experience food like never before!

About the Food

Each time I went to Italy, I was amazed at the simplicity of the cuisine. Each meal consisted of farm to table, top quality ingredients, prepared with love. Preserving tradition is so important to me and I feel that the traditional foods will always have a place in my home. I also love to experiment with gluten-free and clean dishes, so there’s something to satisfy every palette. I hope my recipes shape new culinary traditions and bring your family as much joy as they have mine.

About the Inspiration

There is so much inspiration behind this blog. In Italy, you are never short of things to experience! But for me, food always won. The warmth of a home-cooked meal has the power to bring people together in a way that is unlike anything else. The aroma and the flavours can easily transport you to that special place or incredible moment in time. Preserving culture is so important to me and it is through food that we indulge in our most cherished traditions. This is what I admire most about cooking and why I love inspiring people to do more of it.

Buon appetito!

Sabrina

Most memorable meal: La Sponda at the Sirenuse Hotel in Positano. From the food to the ambiance, it was perfect.

The most beautiful thing I ever saw: Besides my two children at birth, I would have to say Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne sculpture. La Cappella Sansevero in Naples where the Cristo Velato sculpture resides is a close second.
